Introduction to Botany

This half-credit course in Life Science covers plant topics including growth of cells, seeds, roots, and shoots; organization of stems, roots, and leaves; adaptations for protection and to fulfill basic needs; functions related to growth and development; osmosis, transpiration, and photosynthesis; flowers and fruits; and heredity in plants.  Graded coursework includes 10 chapter assignments and quizzes, a research paper, and a scientific inquiry project related to botany.

 

General Science

This 1.0 credit course introduces the learner to topics in life, earth, space, and physical science. Lesson topics include Concepts and Processes in Science, Comprehending and Applying Science, Analyzing and Evaluating Science, Science and Technology, Science in Personal and Social Perspectives, History and Nature of Science, Plant and Animal Science, Human Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and Space Science. Graded coursework includes analysis paragraphs on 12 lesson tests and projects for 12 lessons.
