Health I
This half-credit course covers the following health areas: health and wellness; personal fitness planning; healthy skin, hair, nails, and feet; nutrition and weight control; drugs as medicines, tobacco, alcohol, drug abuse, and illegal drugs; the body systems: nervous system, skeletal and muscular systems, endocrine system, reproductive system, circulatory system, respiratory system, and digestive system; and human sexuality, including reproduction, pregnancy, family planning practices, and interpersonal value choice. Graded coursework includes 16 chapter assignments and tests and a project in the human sexuality unit.
Health II
This half-credit course covers the following health areas: wellness and mental health; managing stress; mental disorders and mental health; the family; marriage and parenthood; the life cycle; consumer health; health services and health care; health organizations; safety and emergency care (including first aid and basic CPR information); communicable diseases; sexually transmitted diseases; noncommunicable diseases and disorders; the environment and health; energy and conservation; and AIDS awareness. Graded coursework includes 17 chapter assignments and tests and a project in the AIDS awareness unit.
